For 123IITJEE.COM classrooms: Broadband is not necessary. We use very sophesticated technologies which work at very low speeds. Though we officially state 56 kbps as requirement, most rooms work fine for as low as 28.8 kbps speed. Stability of the speed is the key and not it being very high.
